sorry to hear that, but glad everyone seems to be ok
|
As they say, everything happens for a reason. You're a good son that's looking after his mom and that's what's important right now. Glad to hear your stepfather is doing alright. It's important to make the necessary arrangements before there's an emergency and you have no or little control over the outcome. If they are ready and yall can afford it, nows the time to get them in somewhere they can be together. I've done the home nursing, built an addition on my home and nursing home, etc, for my mother before she passed several years ago. Don't take on more than you can handle and sometimes you have to make decisions taking every ones welfare into account.

Many thanks guys! He was recovering and they removed the breathing tube yesterday and he started to breathe on his own. But today his son called me and told me he was not responsive and the staff thinks he has slipped into a coma. We're all praying he'll come out of it but it really dosen't look good now. Mom is doing ok. Ive hired 24hr help for her but it wont last long because of limited funds. I've found some really nice nursing homes and everybody has been very helpful. We're making arrangements for her to enter one close by.Luckily I was on 5 days off and could handle some of the nessasary arrangements for her. Thanks again and please keep us in your prayers.

Im sorry to say we lost our stepfather yesterday. We had hoped he would pull out of it, but he was just too weak. He hadn't been eating right and had been having dizzy spells. Moms taking it as good as can be expected. They were very close. He has been taking very good care of mom these last years. They had been together over 16 years. We're really gonna miss him!
