I have a converted 1986 Wellcraft V 20 with a 2013 Mercury 150hp 4 stroke . I am using a Mirage Plus 17 Stainless
3500= 21kn
4000 = 25 kn
5000 = 32kn

I think your engine should top out at 5000. I would check height of engine first. I had to raise my engine one hole.

I would highly suggest adding trim tabs greatly improved handling of my V 20 hull used Bennett sport tabs ....

Having boated along the Mississippi coast for 25 years, I highly recommend you use a stainless prop. Those sandbars will eat a Aluminum prop in a heartbeat.

Yes, I learned about aluminum props the hard way too! Just put on a brand new aluminum prop, went fishing, ran through some shallow water with oyster shells, goodbye brand new prop! My next one was stainless! Even after hitting something and bending the blades up, it was able to be fixed for a fraction of the cost of a new one. It also seems to perform better, but that may just be my imagination.
Now my motor uses a 14 3/4 x 19 and I get up to the low 50's at wot. turning 5600 rpm. Yamaha OX66 225hp.

It's a trade off though. I have bent more than 1 propshaft with stainless props. If you are in an area where you will be hitting rocks, it is cheaper to replace aluminum props than it is to replace propshafts.
