Looks great, your coming along nicely and the Blue looks fantastic.
I have been following your progress and will be watching for your updates.
that 235 on the back should Haul.

I have a 81 213vf thats been thru the ringer and fished hard, but love the boat for fishing in the bay.

thanks everybody.... i am curious nauditq as to what motor you have on the 213 and what are your performance no.s as i have no idea what to expect since i havent had the boat in the water yet???

kheid,
I have had the boat for six years. It came with a floscan, that I monitored all the time when ran. I disconnected it a few years ago, due to the sensor going out and a poss. air leak at the fuel lines.
The motor is a 1991 Rude 200hp. with a rebuilt powerhead with aprox. 200hrs on it.
My notes when the floscan was working
4200 rpm 35mph @10gph was best 3.5m per gal.
5600 rpm 46-47mph 16-20 gph depending
That was with two aboard 1/2 to 3/4 full tank of gas. light tackle.
Now days, after adding a kicker, that drags the water, always three aboard and tons more trolling stuff, and no flowscan.
it still runs the same at cruise, but a tad slower on top end, no clue as to GPh, it will hit 36knots or 42mph pretty easy. I don't really push it, or keep up with the figures, just fish it, and she goes.

excellent ,thanks a lot for those numbers gives me a good idea what to expect ....that 10 gallons an hour sounds better than 16-20 though so have to keep it around 35 which is plenty fast enough !!!! will post some pics when i splashdown hopefully friday after work

Those fuel burn numbers sound a tad low for a 200 JOHNNY-RUDE, I would expect closer to 12 at cruise, and almost 20 GPH is required to make 200HP. FLOSACAN'S are nice, but have to be calibrated. I had one and out of the box it was reading 12% low, recalibrated and it was within 1/2 a gallon of each fill-up. Still not bad numbers though considering my 150 MERC burns 12-13 at 4000 and 19-20 at 5500. And unfortunately the 235 OMC's earned there nickname of 2 thirsty 5 with authority.

Could very well be low burn#s. The flowscan was existing when I bought the boat. I now have over 600 hrs. on the motor, still runs like the day I bought it. Not sure if the floscan was ever calibrated, I never did do it. It had a 1-20 gph gauge and the fuel sensor just hung by the fuel line. I have a NorthStar F210 sitting, waiting to hookup, maybe I will do it soon. Reading the directions, the sensor needs to be mounted in a certain direction, not sure about the old Floscan.
Its not the gas thats the problem. Ever since my mechanic changed the VRO, I have doubled my oil rate. He-my mechanic said the motor is like new, but the new pumps are a flat 50-1 rate, not like the old variable rate VRo. But I swear, I burn a gallon of oil every 25-30 gallons of gas.
For a 100 bucks, it might be worth a look at the Northstar F210, for that
2 thirsty five.

If your using excessive oil, check your fuel lines on the pick-up side for air leaks. The VRO's should run somewhere close to a 100:1 at idle, and the newer pumps up it to 40:1 on the very top end versus the 50:1 of the old pumps. Even a small air leak in the fuel line leading to the VRO pump can double your oil usage. The NORTHSTAR sensor is directional, but the FLOSCAN is the same way. If you install it backwards it will not read any fuel flow as the paddle wheel inside will be moving backwards.

Kheid,

Did you splash her? Where do you launch from in Baltimore?

Are you still going to put the boot stripe on?

no not yet the rubrail took a lot longer than i expected (along with everything else on the boat ) lol, i caulked the rubrail friday night and mounted the fishfinder transducer and speedo pilot tube shooting in a pool tourney today so if the weather is good tomorrows the day!!!! will have slash pics soon. I normally put in on bear creek by the key bridge or rocky point right by hart miller island depending on where im going that day
