Well I finally got my $10 part in from MERCURY, so up for sale my previous baby goes. I can persoanlly vouch for this boat being solid. I really like this boat, but I'm meant for the open ocean.

Looks good Ferm! I've got a buddy in Tampa that does a lot of flats fishing, I'll let him know about your boat.

If you can hold tight to what the cheap bastadges that will contact you before the serious ones, you will get your price.
THAT IS A DREAM.
How's about the draft? Any info on that?

Drafts about a 12-14 inch's off plane with me sitting down. If you have somebody stand up front it drafts alot less. Have verified that it will run through 10 inch's on plane and not even kick up much mud. Took it out today and showed it to a guy, but I think this one is a bit more boat than he wants. He had a grin from ear to ear though when I rolled into it. Had it up to 58.2 with him according to my fish finders paddle wheel sensor(speedo pegs at 55), then I took the admiral out for a ride afterwards and hit 59.2 with her on board and 59.7 with just me. If I run a little more fuel out I know I can hit 60:love:. Man I want to keep this boat, but I just don't use it that much(I'm scared to scratch it on the flats on a rock or oyster bar).

Nice job on your ad Ferm.

That is a nice boat......I'd buy it if I weren't dirt poor.

I've always thought that a flats boat would be good for me so I could use it at the coast AND bass fish out of it here at home.

I'll be getting my economic stimulous money soon, will you take $2100?

And now I got another E-mail where he simply says want to see your boat, what is your address? These kinds of Emails worry me for some reason, no questions about the hull or price just wants to know where I live. So I respond back to him with about a 5 mile radius of where I live and my phone number. I'm on AOL and so is he, so I check to see if he has read the Email or not. Sure enough he read it right away, but never called. Sounds like a scam to get an address to rob to me. Maybe Ebay aint such a bad place to sell after all.

Well I have it listed on the FLORIDA SPORTSMAN and Ebay now. i hope the 15 people watching it aren't forum members here. I'd like to sell this thing and buy me a GARMIN 540S for my HYDRA when I get it back in the water.

I'm sure I do want it, and I'm just as sure I can't afford it.

The other night at dinner we were all talking about our upcomming Disney trip and the cost and such and I brought up that instead of going to Disney, I could buy another boat.

I put it up for a vote....I lost 3 neighs, 2 yea's (my boy voted for the boat).

SO CLOSE, BUT SO FAR AWAY:cry:. Had somebody who wants my boat call this morning from GEORGIA, but he wants to pay me with a personal check. I told him verifiable funds only for payment as I don't want to get a bogus cashiers check or something like I got in the past. He took offense to he fact that I wouldn't take a persoanl check, so I don't think I'll hear from him again. I don't see why it's a problem that I want funds that are guaranteed tobe good, I was even willing to meet him half way for fuel costs. Oh well, hopefully it will get better before auction end.

If he can write a check, there's no reason he couldn't hand you cash.....you are right for wanting real money......people ought to understand in this day and time, with all the scammers out there.

I was willing to basically bend over backwards for the guy, but wouldn't take it there for him. I was willing to go and take my time and talk to my bank and set-up a way to verify his check as well since BANK OF AMERICA is open SATURDAY mornings. He fired back with the "well how do I know your boat is what you say it is, I may get it home and have it be junk". I reminded him that I told him I wanted him to run the boat and to be satisfied before any money changed hands. I also told him that if he used the buy it now on Ebay and he didn't like the boat when he got here I would gladly let him out of the bid for my listing fees. I can't be any fairer than that, but some people want you to run backwards through a cornfield NAKED:oh: before there happy.

The more I thought about the guy from the GOERGIA, the more it smelled like SH!T to me. The thing that got me was why would he go to his bank to hand his cell phone to the loan manager to assure me his personal check was good. I've never known a bank that didn't want to deal in a certified cashiers check, over a persoanl check. Yet this lady I spoke to was trying to convince me to takehis personal check. Smelled to fishy to me, and his not calling back pretty well sealed the deal to me. I may not sell it right now, but at least I know I'm not giving it away due to a bad check. Took her out yesterday and let my nephews go swimmin in the lake. She's still a good running boat, and with the oil injection it don't smoke at all.

I have no doubt that he was a scammer Ferm......bankers cant verify personal checks on the phone.

That's what I figured as well. It just seemed to fishy to me, and he never called back after I told him no persoanl checks verifiable funds only.

Well took a little longer than I thought it would, and I took $250 less than I wanted. But, SHE IS GONE! Ended up getting $7750 for it, and I kept my new batteries, so I guess with boat sales here lately I didn't do to bad. Hated seeing her go, espescially knowing she carried an over $11K book value on her. Oh well, now it's time to finish out the HYDRA-SPORT:sun:.

I went through the same with a Jeep I was selling. The scam is they send you a personal/certified check. You put it in the bank, it clears, you send the item. the bank comes back 2-3 weeks later and says it was a bogus check and you are responsible for the amount of the check. Standard scam now I ask for money in hand and in face transactions and I do not use EBAY as its hard to get your listing fee back. Good to hear you sold her and didn't fall for someones crap.

Me too, CASH only. I have anyone that is interested sign a non-refundable deposit slip to hold a vehicle(usually ask for $200.00 cash or more). I state on the deposit slip that only cash will be accepted for the balance.

Give'em 3 business days in writing on the deposit slip, if they don't finish the deal in the time alotted, the vehicle is back on the market and deposit covers my expenses for the hassle and the people I had to turn away. I hve given an extra couple of days when it seems needed for a nice person, but always have the ball in my court.

Good for you FERM....I bet when the next "book" comes out, she will be valued a lot less anyway with the way boat prices are dropping.
