I was going to go out tomorrow BEFORE sunrise, but when packing the bait tonight I tested my running lights and guess what? They don't work anymore! Hey, what would I expect now that all my mechanical problems are solved ;D! So now I'm going out AT sunrise. So, I know a bunch of you have rewired your boats and here's a couple questions. ANYbody know what a brown wire labled #11 does? It was not attached to anything. Also, what do you guys use to attach gauge covers to their bezels? My tach cover came loose tonight.

Thanks!

hmm, I DONT KNOW, but if you have a west marine catolog in the elec, sec, it gives you the color meanings

CT, I can't figure out what you mean by gauge "cover"...it's probably obvious, but "cover" doesn't ring a bell...

what color is the wire that comes from light switch?...or the lights themselves (lights may have black/ white leads to the wire so follow them for at least 10-12" or so)...check bulbs, connections, fixtures and fuses...could be any of those... ;)...

My lights are both Rear and Front are GRAY

Clear Silacone will fix that Gauge cover for now. But get a new one when you have a few bucks

Thanks guys. Haven't been on since posting.

MJ, the tach is brand new! I think they just didn't do a great job finishing the install. They'll fix it when the boat goes in after 20-hrs for head retorque.

The cover I mean is the plastic cover over the gauge.

The lights started working again Sat. morning, but Monday morning all the electronics died at one point and then came back on. No problems with the motor or starting it, but all the accessories are on the blink!

Did the electronics die when you started the boat? It sounds like a grounding problem. Hows the battery connections/terminals? Were they reinstalled in the spring?

I too am confused about the gauge cover???
My gauges are one piece, go in from the front, and are secured by the standard "U" shaped steel strap from behind.
