This is from a guy in my fishing club. I took it off of our site. This is a 17 Whaler him and a buddy of his redone. He has a 23 Mako they done several years back that is on Classic Mako.com. That is it in the final picture in it.

It a nice lil ride now for sure!!

"My fishing buddy and neighbor has restored a couple 13' Whalers and always said he wants a 17'. Well about 8 months ago I was reading the Saturday paper and saw an ad for a 17' Whaler and trailor on MS coast. I called my buddy (woke him up) and 3 hours later I didn't think his wife was going to speak to me :( .

This is how it started; stripped hull full of holes, with some really bad patch work, and a pos wave runner trailor. He faired, filled, & faired alot more, replaced wood under deck, repaired delaminated deck, faired even more, gel coated outside, gel coated inside, purchased console that he ended up making wider and taller then gel coated too, purchased new trailor, power, ect...

The beginning (see why the wife didn't appreciate the call)

He started project around mid may and Saturday we went around the corner and lauched in Rabbit Creek.

It's not mine, but watching the process has been fun. We are throwing distance from a couple good spots to catch....jacks and gars  and both have 23' offshore boats, so we are excited about trout fishing the dog in cold weather."

It's not quite there yet, but it's getting ready to have a Yam F150 hung on here. She's also got a custom T-top ready to bolt down.

STINKY:

THE FIRST BOAT I HAD IN THIS COUNTRY WAS AN AQUASPORT LIKE THE ONE YOU SHOW, ME AND MY COUSIN FOUND IT LIYING ON THE SIDE ON THE ROAD AND RESTORED IT, WE FOUND A GUY THAT WAS A JOHNSON DISTRIBUITOR IN EL SALVADOR, THAT , DUE TO THE WAR, HAD TO BRING ALL THE STOCK BACK TO U.S. AND LET US HAVE A 150 HP AT A GREAT PRICE.

BOTTOM LINE WE SOLD THAT BOAT WHEN THE MARIEL BOAT LIFT TO SOMEONE THAT WANTED TO GO TO CUBA TO PICK UP THE FAMILY FOR $12,000.00 (BACK IN 1980)
AND WE BOTH BOUGTH NEWER BOATS WITH THE PROFIT
(MY ACTUAL V-20)

Great job, looks awesome. The ride of that boat is another story though. My tin boat rides better than my 17" Whaler did. They are super seaworthy they just ride real hard ;)

Hey Stinky, guess you know this guy over on the clssicmako site too.
