...but looking in the Sierra catalog, they list 3 different ones that look like mine. Which one do I need? Don't ask for a serial #, the drive don't have one. It is an Alpha Gen 1. Looking at the parts list, the only thing different between them is the base part #.

18-3217 if the housings are OK
18-3517 if only the upper housing and impeller needs replacing
18-3320 if it needs everything
be carefull to match the gaskets and orings to what came off, they put enough stuff in teh kit to do about 50 years worth of modles, and its easy to install teh wrong stuff, you will not need everthing in the kit

GOOD NEWS! I found a water pump for $33.00 on line and only $6.40 for shipping. She's on her way. The bad news, it's coming from Jersey. Dang snow. :(

It's from Marine Power Service. I just looked it up on boatfix and it's even cheaper there. DANGIT! Oh well. It's still $25 cheaper than buying locally, and that's with shipping!

Sierra 18-3320. I didn't know you sold parts or I woulda said HEY! Hows about a price for an engine alignment tool? You got one of those? PM me if it's a violation of forum rules.

lets just say I have a connection( my wife works for a marine parts supplier, thats how we met in fact), usually i can't beat the online discount sites, especially when you factor in shipping, but i was curious. I send most of my online inquires to ebasicpower.com, I know Junior that works there, good friend of the family

Gotcha. I'm gonna go checkout that site too.

OK, I see they are in Harkers Island. Are you from around there?

I used to live in Cary, then it got waaaaayyy to expensive to live there, so we moved closer to "home" and settled here in New Bern.

Yep. They call Cary the " Containment Area for Relocated Yankees". It was a great place to live, but the yanks brought with them their desire for home owner associations and conformance rules and it became like living in a communist country. You couldn't fart without somebody calling the cops on ya, nevermind parking a boat in YOUR yard.

people would ask where i was from, I'd tell them "Raleigh", then they would ask when I moved to Raleigh! Iwas one of the few who was actually born there. The transplants started when IBM moved everyone from Pikiptsi(?), NY to Apex/Cary, NC. That started the Research Triangle thing, then Money Magazine announced that the Raleigh/Durham arer to be the best place in the US to live, you could see the moving vans lined up I85 and I95. I miss some friends and family ther, but don't miss the city(we'll maybe some of the eating joints).

Charelston is getting allmost as bad, East of the Cooper might as well be Cary at the beach.

Got a visit from the UPS truck today. Got my pump in my grubby little hands. Any guess what I'm doing this weekend?
