That's how most of the small to midsize Boston Whalers are built. We just didn't use come-alongs. They were all hung from the same lifting rings and suspended on an overhead monorail until completion.

Skools: as it appears from here the third strip from the top is .001" to .0015" wider then the rest. With pratice you will improve.LOL ;D
Other then that I think you did a great job. Man what a skill you have. Great job again and keep up the good work.

There you have a prime example, a finely trained eye such as mine missed that small detail.
Skools lets face it, planed out at 20 mph, who in the heck is going to notice that.
"Perfectionest are there our worst cridic".
If that statement wasn't quoted by someone famous then I lay claim to it. I liked it even if I do say so my self.

just spray paint from advance auto masked it off and painted
I first painted all white then masked off the whole area where the orig decal was then masked off and paint the 3" wide lite gold strip then masked off the gold i wanted to leave and painted the black. then taped off the hood and painted the red stripe and then cleared the whole hood with 3 coats then installed Johnson and 225 decals then cleared all with 2 more coats.
I haven't paint any of the rest of the motor yet that's next.

Thanks Guys not sure yet hope to ask $9500 obo but that's due to the trailer i bought for her last week. i bought a Shoreland'r drive on trailer with brakes for the boat. plus now i've got to pay off my new Tahoe. Does anyone have a 99 Tahoe they tow with? i wonder how this one is going to do. i kept the diesel tahoe too though for little extra heavy towing. What ya think?

I got a 1997 Tahoe with a 350 ci, and beefed up tranny, tows my Dads 6000lb Grady. Don't go over 50 mph though. I recently put helper springs in the rear to help with the soft suspension. Tows the V20 no problem though.
macojoe
12-05-2006, 12:05 AM
I agree, I had to put 3/4 ton springs in my 1500 Silverado because it was to soft for my 30" camper
works great for the V20
Skools Out
12-05-2006, 12:51 AM
yeah this one has helper springs and electric brakes *already installed. i hope it will tow the 250 boat's good. i've got to get under it and crank the front up to level it out. i hate an unlevel truck. i want to put some 285/75/16 tires on it too. that's what i have on the black tahoe but going to put 315/75/16 on it instead.
see here it is on it's current rubber

You see, thats where I messed up, I only had 2 boats when I got married, so when I get over that number, the wife alarm goes off. I shoulda got all my buddies boats together in my yard, 15 or 20 of em, and told the wife they were all mine. Then when I "only" had 9 in the yard she would think I was getting better.

there use to be a bow cover from this boat, but it was rotted and partly missing so it no longer has one lol. the center window was made to open above it and it made the front like a cabin looked alot like the V20 cabin. it was a cool idea. I haven't found the black filler yet, going to a glass company Monday. did you mean the front center hatch it's a hatch i made and cut in the floor for more storageand hull access. it's 13" x 26"

Skools...you mentioned a bow-cover...was it canvas type cover?...When I win the raffle, I'm gonna have canvas made to go between the consoles or make a Starboard swinger ;) ...
Man, it's GREAT how the windshield completes the lines of a boat...that REELY looks good !!...didja have to pre-bend the Lexan in those side windows or did it just conform?...
Keep in' my raffle tickets in my ''Lucky Underwear"...can't wait!!... ;D ...

Reel it was a fiberglass bow cover really cool now i wish i kept it and rebuilt. It had wood in it so you could walk up on the front like the V20. I took the old Lexan to a shop and they formed it the same as the old stuff. then i put the frame back together. The lexan i have under that white plastic is a dark tinted glass.

Skools - I think the center hole on those jeep rims isn't big enough for the hub on the trailer. The only car wheel that I believe fits a standard 5 lug trailer hub are the old Ford Ranger aluminum wheels. Not 100% sure but I think you'll find out soon.

How long and how much $ do you think it would take to sand and paint a V 20. I'm just kicking around the idea now but one day I might get serious and do it.
You know like a few to many beers and the next thing you know theres a tatoo on your arm. ;D
