Hey, I think I might call Dennis at Central Freight and ask for MJ's shipping charges back - AFTER MJ successfully has the motor of course ;D
I don't think he should have to pay for what they put him through. I bet I've got 700 people that agree with me on that!
The guy worried me on the phone - he says, " Yes, I'm looking at the motor now. It has an anchor with it right?" I'm like, nope - no anchor?? He says, "well it says Macojoe all over it". I say, well that is true.
So, either there's another Macojoe thats getting an outboard with an anchor, or maybe they threw in the anchor to make MJ happier :)
Or, thirdly, maybe he was looking at the skeg and thought it was an anchor - who knows what's going on there?!? They are definitely clueless.

Nope, offered up nothin. I don't think they know where its been. But, they should be able to find out.
However, I guess it doesn't really matter, cause we know where it's NOT been! At MJ's house!
I just pray that they haven't torn it up. :-[

Ok I had to take the wife to doctor and really squzeed the trip to get the motor in!!
I got there and he had the motor waiting for me. We got it in the truck and I was off for home!
As for were it has been? I asked and was told it has been travling with out ever being scaned??
Something is not right?? What at the end of the day the truck has a extra piece and no one questions it??
We may never know??
Any way they broke a good piece of the cavatation plate off!!
I hope that my whale tail will be able to bolt on and cover the area??
I will have to put in for a claim for damaged feright and that will be $45 that they will give me.
The plan is for Friday CB is coming and the plan is to have it on, running and test ride all in one day!!

MJ - I'm glad it's in your front yard!! After you catch some bass you might look into getting a permatrim from SIM on thehulltruth They run about $100. I had one on the FICHT and it was awesome.

The most amazing part of this whole situation is that . . . I'm so happy that the engine arrived that I could easily overlook the fact that motor is a month late, broken and you had to go pick it up 50+ miles away.
http://www.permatrimmarine.com/images/yamclear.jpg
Just bolt one of these on and repair it next season. Shouldn't cost too much for someone to weld that back together. Who knows maybe BR can get them to refund the shipping.

EXACTLY what I was thinkin BS! Good call. I will make a call to our buddy Dennis tomorrow morning. MJ, if we get the shipping back you can use it to buy one of those contraptions BS posted and stick the rest back for repairs. I can give him he11 now! MJ has the motor! But don't worry, I'll still be nice :P
MJ - were there stickers that said, "DO NOT STACK"?
I thin they must have stacked something on it?? Let me know - that will part of my ammo. ;) Dad said they put stickers on all sides that said "DO NOT STACK"
Remember, I'm the one that has been known to fight for months over 12 bucks....I won't die...

Like I said in a previous post, show up when least expected.
Glad to see that the motor did finally arrive.
Definately a weldable piece, but I suggest taking it to a reputable welding shop.
If arrangements are made ahead of time, the shop
could complete that job in less than 4 hours.
That is to do it correctly. 15 minutes to slap a $hit weld on.

Depends on the material.
If aluminum, then TIG. no danger of spatter.
but in all cases, I would still protect every open space from spatter, anywhere that it could work it's way into a moving part.
My comment about the 4 hour job, this would include
protection from spatter.

Well Thanks all!!
I am Camping for the summer now and I just got home since Monday.
Yes they can weld, but for now I am going to put my plastic Stingray Hydrofoil on it and hope it is fine??
I like the one BS posted but I have to wait till I get some money.
I am going to wait for the weld, as I want to remove the lower unit and drain oil and remove water pump, I don't want the heat to ruin any gaskets or the impeller.
Hope to be in the water tomorrow afternoon??
CB is to show in the am, I will have all ready to go! *Since it is another Yamaha all will just plug in and we ready to start.
I will have pic of all I hope to post tomorrow or Sat!
CB if we have it in the water tomorrow I will wear 2 tassels!! :-* *
