Yo M.J.,
Bear with me here, just finished up on the night shift. Been looking at your pics. on your anchor davit.
I'm looking at some 1 1/2 starboard to make one.
What size did you make yours ?
Reason for not mounting it flush to bow. See you have a spacer under it ?
Do you have a support plate on the under side ? or just bolts and washers.
Why didnt you add a picture of teh underside on how you mounted it. Damm It !! >:( >:( >:( ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guess you have 4-bolts holding it to the bow ??
Request input, or just ship me yours. ;D ;D ;D
Looking at working on a bigger dive platform or make the davit.

Hammer, I ain't MJ but the reason it's got the spacer is because the pre '80 boats have a small lip around the bow that he had to clear. You don't have that lip to worry about. Mount flush.

I use two peices of 3/4 starboard as that is what I had.

Air is right, there is a 3/4 lip around the bow of the boat in 1975.

I have 4 bolts mouting thur the deck and there is a 1/4 inch dimond plate alum as a backing plate.

Is there anything else sweet heart??

Pulpit ::)

Finished is 8 1/2 X 23 1/4

We started with 9 X 24 I belive. But I bolted 2 toghter to get the full thickness, Then after it was bolted toghter we trimed and routered to get the end result.

But as you are using a full 1 1/2 to start you can start smaller and end were ever you want.

Thanks M.J.
Brains cells are slowy turning now as i sip on my cooffee now. ;D
Now, do you ever worry about loosing the anchor while in motion ???? I notice the chain simply goes over a steel hook of some kind. Is that the only thing holding the anchor secure ??
Damm, if you start charging a buck a question, you have another motor by now. ;D
