Ive got some odd ball lever drags on Tiger Rods that I use for dragging planers with spoons for Spanish. The reals work, but are kinda crappy. I'd like to have TLD15s for these rods but they've gone up quite a bit in price over the past few years. What's ya'lls recommendations for budget Spanish reels?

Sounds like the gear we use for kings. Only lever drags I have are 1 Okuma and 1 Penn 300, I think is the model. All others are star drags.

When i troll for grouper, it s all Penn and Diawa 4/0. All my gear is old, at least 20 years, that s why I ve stuck with them, can usually get parts.

I know some guys that are buying reels off that Piscireels site. Look flashy, good reviews, cheap, but I don t think they are built for the long run.
