Default opinions on the 150 hp mercury optimax?

Yep i might have a deal on 2 mercury 150 hp optimax motors. Like a really good deal! Whats the the good and bad?

depends on the year, performance and fuel economy is great, compressors were a problem.

make sure the po ran merc opti oil and u need to continue the tradition

brighter bulbs will be along

great motors, they do have a lot going on on them that leads to more issues, but when they are running right, nothing will beat them. What year model and X1000000 on the oil

Yup, avoid the early years, but easy enough to confirm when these were finally corrected.

Have a good rep for power, and fuel economy.
