I'm a Chevy guy, but haven't heard anything especially great about the colorados. Def not the old S10/sonoma.

The Dura-max diesel intrigues me, but if this Colorado is anything like the last few years products I wouldn't go near it with a 10 foot pole. I'll stay with the Frontier thank you.

yeah, the I4 diesel caught my attention as well. if they can build it with any kind of reliability and longevity it should be popular.

They look good but I'm sold on Toyota's. We've got eight in the family. My 97 tacoma has 317000 miles on it and still running strong. I've pulled my V down to Oregon Inlet (92 miles one way) for many years without any problems. And I know the V weighs more than my truck! My son inlaw just got a 06 Tundra, really nice truck. When I replace my truck it will ba a 4x4 Tundra with the 5.7, the're hard to beat!

If only they'd bring back the S-10 and put a 4bt in it... it would be a 500k mile truck easy

The last Nissan PU I had, "Hardbody, circa 1996" was no more refined than the 1976 Datsun/1981 Nissan I started with. 1984 S-10/ 2.8L V-6 seemed gutless until you drove the Nissan/Isuzu/Toyota from the same era. The little 2.8 delivered great fuel mileage, better than the four cylinder counterparts from across the pond. Anemic POS was my first impression with the Toyota and Nissan. I replaced two transmissions and two rear ends in my 81 Nissan pick-up. It is all small and lightweight designed and simply would not hold up to the beating it was taking. With the 1996 Nissan, once you let out the clutch, the little motor did not have the nads to pull my flats boat up the ramp. Don't get me wrong the NapZ engine ran like a top, it was just weak. The 1984 S-10 with the automatic had no trouble with the boat other than being about the same weight as the boat and trailer. Probably would have helped to have 4WD and a granny gear in the Nissan I would guess.

Different strokes. That is why there are so many manufacturers and models to choose from. Little diesels? Chevy already has one in their compact cars.

Agree about the toyotas, both the good and the bad, have had five of them. Still have a 94 4Runner with the "3 point SLOW" V6 with the automatic transmission. I wish they'd bring back the chevy 4.3 with throttle body injection. None of the vortec crap.

Toyota, never really tried one for long. Old school 20R with a 5 speed was tough little guy. Might have to venture into one. I do have an affinity toward the Land Cruisers. Posh fixins. Po boy no got no funds.
Here is the Dodge 3.0 ECO Diesel in a full size. Not to derail, just found it, I had no clue they had this engine package.
