i read that this paint is a topside only paint, but if using on the bottom of a hull how long can it stay in the water? i might keep the boat in the water overnight at the most.

I really don't think you should use under the water line, even if you're just leaving overnight at most. Once you get a little water intrusion in it, it spreads through the rest some kinda bad. Just use it down t the waterline, and throw some bottom paint on it.

i e-mailed interlux and Joe over there said i would have a 72 hour window. where as long as it doesnt stay in the water for longer than that i would be ok. I think i should be fine if it were the v-20 i would def go with the bottom paint.

works fine under water i used it on the 21 project i did but they make an underwater primer for it to use first. best to use the primer on the entire boat. that makes the paint stick forever. I left that 21 in the water for up to 3 weeks and never an issue. it will work without primer too but the primer will make it hold so much better even on the top side. all marine paints say topside paint except bottom coat paint. just use it, the stuff works great.

heck you can beat the boat with a hammer and the paint doesn't even chip or crack with that pre coat
