BOBJ, I'm sorry you feel that way. May I remind you that at the beginning of the thread there is a warning stating that it is a political arena and that you enter at your own risk. I might also state that I believe it was MJ that actually started this thread. In all cases you are under no requirement to read or comment on any content found here, and while it saddens me to read your post about you being "out", you cannot say you were not warned. If you should decide to return you will of course be warmly welcomed as usual.

Trump's comments underscore the vast GOP effort to downplay the Capitol riot.

In the months since January 6, the former President and Republican lawmakers in both chambers have offered false accounts of the attack that conflict with reams of video evidence, criminal charges filed against participants and law enforcement officials' testimony.

Every President takes the oath to uphold our constitution and protect and defend our nation against all enemies foreign AND domestic.

Trumps a TRAITOR in this regard too because he :
1. Tried to coerce officials to lie about the election results- hes on tape.
2. Encouraged attack on our Capitol so as to disrupt the voting result confirmation.
3. Referred to the Insurrectionists as special wonderful people.

Imagine a President of our United States doing these things.
Well we need not IMAGINE because thats what Trump did as President and he therefore belongs in our maximum security prison with a life sentence for crimes against our nation.

1. Really? I must have missed that tape. Exactly which one did he tell officials to lie? Proof please.

2. He did not encourage an attack on the Capital. He encouraged a demonstration of and by the people (all 20,000+ of them) for a redress of their grievances.

3. Exactly what is wrong with someone, anyone, saying that they thing some people are wonderful people? Are you telling me that if I refer to you as a wonderful person I'm somehow committing a crime? Whatever happened to that thing called free speech?
