MS - Nice looking boat!! See if you can find a Merc Laser 2 - 19pitch on ebay . . . you'll turn that motor another 400rpm's.

$150 . . . for the water pump is typical shop labor rate. (He might include replacing the seals . . . but I doubt it for that price)

Replacing the impleller is a snap . . . . The PIA part is putting the lowerunit back on. Having to support the 50lb unit while you line up the shiftshaft and water tube is not fun. If you have an engine hoist or a buddy the hold the lower unit in place then you're golden. Shift shaft is the same setup as the Yamaha . . . The only difference b/w a merc and others . . . is that you have to run a 3" bead of hightemp sealant b/w the exhaust and the water pump housing.

Below the pee hole, there are to rectangular ports, exhaust they look like . they were blowing out alot of water really well.
This is normal for merc's some of the water is used to cool the exhaust . . . Water spray/spit will come out of those ports.

The wimpy water pump action is a result of the poppet valve. When the motor comes up to TEMP the valve opens up (from pressure) and water flows freely out the pee-hole. This is also normal. Some people remove that valve . . . If you do a search on mercury poppet valve and you'll get more info than you ever wanted.

Just the Merc's!!

When you pull the lower off . . . there is a small bridge b/w the section where the water pump housing is and the section where the exhaust exits the gearcase housing. You just need to run a short bead across that bridge when you're putting the lower unit back on.

Hey, what about gas. I was told "I think" to mix 1 quart to every6 gallons of gas. Or was it to 12 gallons of gas.
Any oil mixers out there who can help. :P

I'll search E-Bay tonight for the 19inch prop. Thanks : )

I quart to 12 gallons I'm a fellow mixer. That boats lookin good man. And these Mercs dont pee hard like those white boys. I put a new impeller, gaskets and Thermostats yearlyand it still won't pee for a couple minutes everytime and then it would'nt put anybodys eye out. 8)
