Well guys, I am at the Readington Diner. Needed a break and they have wifi.
Fuel is damn near impossible to get and I am down to my last couple of gallons for my generator.
Had counted on syphoning fuel from my truck and car since I filled them before the storm.
Dumb Arse me who has not had to syphon fuel for thirty years or more did not know they have anti syphon valves in them for over a decade. Can't get it out.

They are saying we may not have power until next Wednesday. I sure hope they are wrong.
Senor Burt is not looking pretty, took me three hours but I got to see it yesterday.
She may be salvageable, but it going to cost a chunk.
Plus there are going to be very few places to get it worked on and even fewer mechanics and glassmen to go around.
I had tears in my eyes with what I saw down along Raritan Bay yesterday.
God help those poor people.
I see that most of us made it through with our health and families intact.
I am very thankful for that.
My computer is running out of battery so I will say A Dios till later.
Will post some photos when we get internet back.
Till then you all take care and comb your hair.

Good to hear from you, old geezer...I left you a text you might find interesting...Lemme run...gotta go comb my hair...all both of them...CNN's meteorologist talking about a storm brewing for mid net week up there POSSIBLE...he said if all was normal, he wouldn't even mention it, but w/things as they are folks better start preparing for colder weather and rain....and POSSIBLE WIND OFF THE WATER...would be bad timing to say the least...

Hope he's wrong...

willy, at least on my truck, there is a rubber hose between the filler on the bed & the fuel tank under the truck. you can undo 2 hose clamps, slide it off and get to the gas in the tank. found that out during opal.

stay safe

Crap, I don't know how I miss these threads. If I can help out at all let me know. How bad do you need gas? I could put 125 gals in the boat and round up all the 5 gal cans I could find...

Default Skunkboat Ok

I pulled the boat before the storm and it rode it out in an empty field in Toms River.

As of Saturday, I still have no power, heat, internet. Cell phone has gotten better. I can't complain. We are very lucky.

House got lucky, trees on 2 next door neighbors and many others in neighborhood. I'm far from water so now problem with flooding.

That's looking ahead...Hope ya filled the boat tank w/gas...you'd have 60 gals sittin' out there to use in the shortage...And your comment that you live far from water...sometimes. that's a GOOD thing...

Hope everybody else doin' ok up there...looks like some more weather headed your way Wed & Thurs...

Don't worry, if you and your family made ito ut your doing good. And remember after hurricanes there are 2 boat brands that almost always make it back on the water with minimal repairs, HATTERAS and BERTRAMS. They are both built like tanks and would be shocked to know how many have weathered cat 4 hurricanes to be repaired and still going today. Wish I could have popped in to help out as I just got back from up that way(had to go to a funeral in Barnegat).
