Default Fishing trip pics

Yesterday my son and I went out to the tire reef, 3 miles off
Barnegat inlet for a day of fluke fishing. Turned out that the
fluke action was from slow to nothing. While making a move
inbetween drifts, we just happened upon a school of hungry
bluefish that were jumping and swirling on the surface. Since we wern't catching any fluke, we decided to switch rigs and go for the blues. After about an hour of fast and furious action we had a dozen in the box and had lost about a half dozen more due to straightened hooks, ripped open snapswivels, and broken lines. Big blues are real tackle busters. We knew that we couldn't utilize more than a dozen bluefish so we left them biting, called it a day and went in early. Also while we were in the middle of catching blues, we saw a pod of porposes swimming nearby. Maybe they were catching bluefish too. We didn't
catch any fluke, but it was a great day out on the water, and the boat performed flawlessly.
