Willy, I think there is a big difference between legal and illegal immigrants. In terms of corperations, they can't take advantage of legal immigrants the way the do illegals. Being a legal immigrant means they pay taxes just like you and and I thus they pay into the system as well. Illegal immigrants don't pay into the system and in a sense make a deal with the devel (corperations willing to hire them, pay them under the table and figure out a way to hide their tracks). Those are the ones who are placing the biggest burdens on our system. That's why I feel it important to stress that we distinguish between people who have taken the steps to immigrate legally vs. those who have not. Remember the legal immigrants include California's governor... as well as a freind of mine who pays more in taxes than alot of citizens born here, has health insurance and will not be taken advantage of by any company because he understands his rights (at least as well as the rest of us). I think that holds true for a majority of legal immigrants.

As for the illegal immigrants, I'm with ya all the way. The laws on the books need to be inforced. Companies, politicians and authorities need to be held accountable. It's a bad scene all around and there are too many people too high up making too much money (or being influenced) from illegal immigration.

I don't understand why people think that the unions should have so much infleunce over their votes. I was a member of the CWA (until I got a new job), but I voted how I felt, not how they wanted. I'll be d@**ed if anyone is going to try to force me to use my vote in a way I don't agree with. Their job was to keep the company honest, which I felt they went overboard with, but since companies tend to go overboard in the oppisite direction I figured it would usually balance out... althought probably not the case for the auto unions, but then look what's happening to their jobs. When people start to give into that kind of crap we all lose. *Sorry about this last part, but that kinda hit a nerve.. ::)

There is a huge difference between legal and illegal immigration and I agree with you whole heartedly. The point I was making was what you asked about concerning that fellows charts, the shear numbers he did not seperate the two because in the end it still is immigration. He is saying that we allow 1 million plus legal immigration a year and that number is way to high. I think he is right.
The numbers on illegals in the country now are pure estimates but range from 12 million to just over 20 million. That is an astronomical burden for any country to carry. They want to now make them legal, and to allow them to bring in family members totalling in their estimate between 15-20 million.
Oh My God. How can they possibly justify doing that to this country? They can't, but they are going to do it unless we let them know now our reaction and stick to it.
I have always been an independant. Generally vote republican, mostly due to being the lesser of the two evils I am presented with. That chain of thought is over now. I am voting with whoever is saying and doing the right thing regardless of party. If he has been in office already and has not fought this type of thing wholeheartedly and effectively I will vote for one of the other candidates. I don't care anymore dem rep or gay liberation party if he is going to do the right thing that is my man, or woman or in between. Incumbent out unless any changes are made.
If you vote dem because your union says they will give you the best deals shame on you. If you are in buisness and vote rep because you think he is going to get you a corporate tax break shame on you. At some point you have to be an American first, while there is still such a thing left.

I too have no problem at all with legal immigrants where ever they are from as long as they play and pay by the same rules and speak english like the rest of us and no special programs..On our elected officials issue I have to say that its all part of the slimy bottom feeder world they live in..they are all lawyers and make unethicial deals every day to get this or that bill passed that makes them popular at the expense of important programs that as a result go unfunded. After Vietnam I went to Law School under the GI bill but got fed up with the left wing BS and quit after a year to join the DEA. In law school you learn how to technically manipulate the system, sway juries, plea bargin, jury shop, judge shop intimidate cops and witnesses, frighten victims of violent crimes while all along they know their clients are 100% guilty and have probably committed numerous other violent crimes. As a result justice is held hostage by the law and the best actor wins and when they get into elected positions like senators and c >:(ongressmen they continue this behavior to stay in office forever. They are trained to be pathalogicial liars ..Frank

I am a man of few words,

I am regestered as NO PARTY AFFILIATION, because I want to vote for whoever I dam well please to vote for.

I am all for legal immigration, agree the numbers allowed are a little too high, but legal is acceptable.

Illegals - register with their intentions, if become a citizen,
then do an International criminal check,
if they have as much as a parking ticket, they are outta here.
Oh yeah, back taxes should be paid, imagine if you or I didn't pay taxes for a number of years.

A Pink Floyd song comes to mind on this topic,
Build the Wall.
