Thanks Ridgerunner,

Wow, a 250 on your 83?!

Did you have to bulk up/modify the transom to handle that beast? I was under the impression 200 was max. on these rigs.

She must really fly..

I did modify the transom, but not necessarily for the 250. My free to me center console started life with a 235 Johnrude motor hung on a notched down transom. While having the liner out to fix the soft floor, my mind ran amuck and decided a full transom and motor on a bracket was what it needed. I added some tall knee braces to strengthen the transom. The 250 is too much motor for most conditions, 140 to 200hp is a plenty.
