Why are you painting it at all? If she's gonna live on a trailer let her show off her beautiful, sparkling white hull. There's no need for paint.
You'll always be welcome in Barnagat Bay Oz...We know quality when we see it. Bunk trailers are good. Roller trailers rule!! I have a friend with a bunk trailer that bought some of those anti-friction plastic strips off of eBay that you attach to the bunks. They work FANTASTIC!! Not quite as well as a roller trailer, but it's about 10 times easier to launch his boat now.

Ok, OK, none you northerners like bunk trailers. I get it.
But Destroyer, how can a boat launching get 10 times easier with the slides added to the bunks? If your doing it right the boat will float right off the trailer.  I suspect the rollers allow you to keep more trailer/tow vehicle out of the water so that is an advantage. Winching a boat off a beach, like Capt. Pete does, advantage rollers. But we proved in Charleston that it is a no-brainer with a bunk type trailer, didn't we? Side guides provide the alignment and the V gets you lined up so you just drive it on and off. I will say that the Tragic Tilt trailers from FL left a lot to be desired in a bunk trailer but

i think you hit it on the head ridge, the ramp means a lot on which type of trailer is best. around here we have a lot of short steep ramps and float on/bunks rule. but when i go to the keys, i struggle a little more with the shallow, lo angle ones there. i have had both & for what i do, bunks are the best.

Ok so what we've learned here is that bunks work on short steep ramps? and roller trailers work on ALL ramps..... hmmmm

Good point about the ramp angle. Most of the ramps around me are long shallow type. We rarely get the entire trailer wet.. most of the time we just dip the back cross bar into the water and push the boat off... which is why the anti-friction strips on the bunks and roller trailers work so well up here... most of the weight of the boat is still on the trailer..we don't normally float on/off up here.
(There are a few steep ramps up here that I know of... Leonardo State marina is a perfect example. Short, steep and if you're not careful you'll put your axle off the end of the ramp. I've seen several drive on type trailers using that ramp. Then again, just a few miles down the road is the Atlantic Highlands Marina ...nice, long, shallow ramp that is perfect for roller trailers).
