Default Re: Specs

The boat is missing from the perch that it has been on for well over 3 years (don't know when the last owner used it).
It didn't go without some fight, I pulled several things in my right leg between the knee and ankle. Hope it's a lot better in the morning for the test run.
Got it in about an hour ago at the ramp at the end of the street. We had an 8 foot tide tonight. In the morning it's only supposed to be 6.8, therefore the reason for rushing it.

Wasn***8217;t physically able to try the boat last night (walking around like a pegleg pirate) so after letting it sit overnight at the dock found it this morning listing to one side slightly. Well after crawling into the boat and checking for rainwater and then saltwater with no results, I happened to turn on the fuel gauge to find the port tank had been drained. First response was ***8220;dam didn***8217;t take long for thieves to get the gas***8221;. Now I only filled each tank half way to test them. Turned on the other tank and it was reading ***8220;FULL***8221;. ***8220;What the hell***8221; ??? What happened was at low tide the boat leaned on the side and siphoned the gas from one tank to the other. Guess I***8217;ll need to reinstall the shutoff valves. :P

Boat ran fine, after 15 or 20 minutes finally started opening it up a little but just as I pushed to full throttle the horn came on. So I backed off a little and it quieted down, gave it more throttle and it started again. It***8217;s pumping water, not steaming or giving any indication of overheating, except the horn. This went on for another 15 or 20 minutes till it stayed on constantly. So I slowly headed back to the dock. No, I didn***8217;t take any tools or even a paddle, just a cell phone. After letting it sit for about 2 hours, I went back and turned the switch on and immediately the horn came and stayed on. Found the offending sensor, disconnected it and all seems fine. More to add to the repair list.

You know a ***8220;test run***8221;, ***8220;shakedown***8221; or ***8220;splashdown***8221; is supposed to be about finding the bugs in the system, not about finding all the bugs in the world. :-X

Did do more work on the trailer while the boat was off it.
Greased the rollers, changed the winch.

(also thread to guide on trailer bunks)

Probably gonna let this thread end and start offending the ***8220;Repairs ***8220; and ***8220;Modifications***8221; sections. That***8217;s where most of this belongs.

Gonna pull it back on the trailer tonight at high tide and resume operations. ;)
