Well boys, I got a late start because of rain and it rained on me for a few minutes while working, but it is done.
The key to this job was having a good helper. ![]() That plus being able to phone friends while I was in the yard rasslin that sucker. *(Thanks Lord Skools) *Another mechanic friend helped me by pulling up diagrams on the computer while I was at the motor. Once I found all the bolts holding on the gearcase (there are 7 in a Merc 150) it slid right off. ![]() The good news was that the old waterpump looked fine.....that is also the bad news, I was hoping it was crap and I would solve my overheat problem. *There were plenty of signs that the motor had sucked up sand. ![]() ![]() Putting the motor in forward gear was the trick, it all went back together real smooth. ![]() ![]() And the results? I don't know, it got time for church so I will have to test it out in the morning.
