CT V20,
Thanx for the advice ... sounds like what you found is exactly the type boat I would like to find as well. Any advice on the best way to locate all V20's for sale ? I currently watch EBAY, Bargain News, boats.com, usedboats.com, boattraderonline.com ... I think thats it. Oh, and get the paper flyer in our area (Yankee Swapper or something like that) that has the boats and motorcycles in it. Brian ps ... one question for anyone who knows. This MY (1982) has cockpit floor drains that drain into a bilge area. Are all model years like that .... or did they change to self-bailing floors at some point ?

Some of the early models drained into the bilge, but they corrected that in the early '80's ('83 I believe, but could be wrong) to a self bailing cockpit.

Bet you could get it for a lot less than 850...MJ could slap a bracket on it in all his spare time an' a feller could be off to the fishin' grounds in no time!... ;D

My '86 drains into the bilge. Pretty gnarly setup because first water drains onto the shelves that hold the batteries and VRO tank, then it runs down into the bilge.

My 75 drains to the bilge also!! I belive this was the undoing of the I/O.
It was always splasghing water on all the wires and starter and other stuff. This is why I hated it so much! Water still gioes there but now there is nothing but a gas tank there. I don't get much water there anyway now that I have fixed all the stuff over the years!!

The "drains" on both sides of the cockpit look like through hulls to me - rather than scuppers - as they each have nipples to attach a hose to behind the bulkhead. So I could attach a hose to both lines and divert the water directly to the bilge. However, I would have to check whether or not that setup would defy gravity and I would want to use a bigger diameter hose to avoid increasing the odds of clogging. I have not noticed any meaningful standing water on either shelf as they both have gaps cut into their edges for water to drain through. It is yet another potential project though!
