Cool

For me, with my heart problems, Winter fishing with all the extra strain has been a no-no. But you're right, we need to make more posts... especially about fishing. I know that a few(?) trips to Lake Ontario are in the picture for this year for Steelhead and Salmon.

Why do you say you're done G? You never mentioned any health problems.

D, I was helping my friend Joe get his skiff ready for the spring, as I was climbing out I fell off the boat and onto the gravel yard, about 4' and smashed my face, screwed up my leg, so I can't get around like I use to. I hate to use this, but since this Chinese Wuhan Virus, Joe gave up his skiff and Lloyd don't fish much any longer either and now with the price of gas, I don't think he will be going out much. My big mistake was not getting a new engine for my boat, but I did a rebuild before and didn't want to spend the $8,000 for a new I/O, big regret. Now I have all my fishing stuff, 16 sticks, 16 reels, my grundens, sinkers, boots, all kind of hooks, snelled and not, spools of line, braid and mono I would like to sell everything in a one shot deal, but I know it can't be done. I can't sell it all piece by piece.
D, Thanks.

I’m gonna be honest here…. Your face wasn’t all that pretty to begin with, but even at our advanced age, the leg will heal. Just rest it up until you can start to rehab it. No need to give up. Sh1t! You ain’t all that old.

I totally agree with Charlie. And truthfully, I've made trips to Long Island Sound for Porgies several times. My point is I think hooking up for a fishing trip someplace is not out of the question. Hang in there and heal up, then lets see how things work out. It might be worth a Bacon Bagel....

Charlie thanks, I was wondering why people at the marina said how come you can't walk, not why is that blood dripping down your face or what happened to your face, it's ugly as ever. I'm older than you think!!!

D, I was thinking why go to the sound for Porgies and not Sheepshead Bay, but then it hit me, I think where you live is a lot closer to the sound? You live in North New Jersey right.

I made myself a tasted everything bagel with butter and soft bacon, let me tell you this it was good, but didn't taste the the ones I got from the Knapp Street Deli.

Hey Guy's thanks for the responses.

Hmmm, if there s a bacon bagel in the mix ,I might have to venture north of I-10

I was gearing up for a spectacular spring, water temp just got up to 68 degrees, the magic number for us

But2 weeks ago, I came home and walked out to my son s house and found water coming out from under the front door

Water heater had rotted out on the bottom and flooded the whole house. It is only 400 square ft, but all flooring has to come up, Sheetrock 24 inches down removed, etc.

My fishing suddenly took a back seat

Just got it rebuilt after the hurricane

Oh man... UGH. Sorry Phat. That sux big time. I remember only too well the repairs we had to make after our finished basement got flooded (4 feet of water) from Hurricane Irene.

Two reasons G. First, I had friends that lived in that area. (They've moved South to NC now). Second, like you said, I live in Northeastern NJ. And the third reason I don't go there much anymore is the outrageous cost of tolls for the bridges. These people are out of their ever loving minds!!!!

Either the GW Bridge or Lincoln tunnel are about the same distance, but the Narrows bridge is a trek.
