Twins .....but at about 1,200 lbs each, maybe a bit much on the transom.

David ....there was a video posted by owner of a sleeper V20 with really high HP I /O set up reportedly ran 70 mph .....

Boat was porpoising a bit I think could be solved with trim tabs .
Possibly the fastest V ever ...

Yes I think trim tabs would be a great idea. But even without them I love this boat with the 225 on there it’s superb and I’m not dogging it either but it just runs so good on there. Gets up out of the hole easily but it’s not ridiculous or anything it’s perfect. And I’m just cruising along 4000-4500 rpm and it’s nice knowing I have power in reserve of need be. But top speed is not my concern I really want to make this motor last it’s 2006 with only 159 hours and I can’t afford to replace it. I’m just a blue collar HVAC mechanic I put this boat together on a $7500 budget and It’s gotta be worth twice that based off what I’m seeing **** sell for now. So I’m gonna appreciate this thing and take care of it

David ....on subject of trim tabs, makes a major improvement in ride performance in the chop.
I fish mostly all ocean, before I installed the tabs, pounding in 2-3 chop bad. With the trim tabs down in these conditions it keeps the front cutting edge of bow down and I can chug along on slow plane without pounding .

Top speed is just for the record, a subject I find fun while nearly all my own boating is from troll to 4500 rpm.
Congrats with your rig

Yeah I’m not going out in the ocean but it gets pretty rough in the Chesapeake and the parts of the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers I fish so I definitely think trim tabs will be a huge benefit. I did notice yesterday while out on the water the 225 must have got it’s **** together from sitting or something because it ran so good after I ran it but more. Probably got rid of more of the old stabilized fuel too. I was gonna pump it out initially but the mechanic I had check out the motor said it didn’t look too bad and said he would just add fresh and go burn it all out of there. What brand of trim tabs do you have?

I installed the BENNETT tabs with the hydraulic set up and plain up- down switch.
If I can install it anyone can just measure, measure and re measure then its simple .
I know choppy Chesapeake and Im not exaggerating at all the trim tabs make a BIG difference.
Motor trimmed all the way down isnt enough so thats where the tabs come into play plus you can trim with the tabs and the motor together to balance and adjust ride to near perfection.
A seriously useful edition to this Hull. Forgot the size tabs I got but the people at Bennett will recommend for you

I will add the trim tabs to the list as you know on the Chesapeake chop is pretty much the norm sometimes you get calm but usually will kick up a little sometimes a lot. The closest I ever thought I was gonna die on a boat was on the bay during a summer squall. One of those bad storms that comes out of nowhere literally was dropping golf ball size hail on us and waves coming over a 26 footer from different directions. So if I need to make a run for the river I want to be as quick as possible
