This is a great offer!! All you guys are great for thinking about me!
I told my son & daughter about it and they are like do it do it!
But I am not in any shape to have a boat at this time, physically or financially not really able. both my kids say to get it and if all goes well we can start next year?
But as CTT said I an nothing like i use to be so doing glass work and such is a no way! So not to be picky but how is the hull as far as rot, transom?? motor and wireing not a problem, but can't get into a huge project. even after transplant, my hands are gone eyes sre gone. My kids can help but when they say the apple doesn't fall far from tree, mine fell ,rolled down the drive way and got smashed by a truck!! LOL
But I want to thank you all!! I really miss boating and fishing!!!
I am glad to call all of you FRIEND!!

Here's more info, if it helps.

I believe I am the third owner. The prior owner lived in Macojoe's area (Middleboro). At the time, I was boating out of the Cape Cod Canal area. I grew up near the water (Long Island Sound) and on boats (sail and power), but my wife was a city girl with no boating experience. This boat was reasonably inexpensive, and I knew the seller pretty well, so it seemed like a low-risk way to see if my wife was into this crazy hobby. She was hooked, so the experiment was a success.

A few years later, I went back to school, so the boat didn't get much use then. We'd put it out on the mooring, and only use it every 2-3 weeks. Eventually, we bought a camp in NH, and switched to lake boating. We decided to buy an open cockpit bowrider, which was a better fit for our needs (more seating for family, etc.). The V20 was parked, shrinkwrapped, behind the house, for what turned into 5 years. Last winter the ridgepole snapped and the shrinkwrap collapsed in one spot.

Condition:
  • Engine: The engine was always reliable, but it's probably tired. It is pretty noisy (sounds like piston slap). The alternator went out on me once (the diodes fried). I guess I may have shut off the battery switch with it running (even though I don't remember doing so). One spring, the boatyard launched it for me. While driving it out to the mooring, it died. They towed it back to the ramp and pulled it, and diagnosed it as a failed oil injection pump. They told me the engine "seized", but it seemed to run fine with a new injection pump. It may have gotten a bit noisier after that, but I don't really remember. I did look into buying a rebuilt powerhead, but never followed up on it.
  • Hull: As far as I know, the hull is solid. There's no blistering or gel coat damage that I can see, beyond the general hazyness of old, sunbeaten gelcoat on the deck.
  • Interior: I have the cuddy cabin cushions. They seem fine. There's a small porta-potty in the v-berth, but we never used it, so I don't know it's condition. The convertible bench/front-rear facing seat on the left side started to come apart. I pulled it to rebuild the wooden frame, but never finished. I believe it's long since lost.
  • Curtains/canvas/plastic - The canvas top is a bit beat; the seams are starting to come apart. I'm pretty sure it's all there, and could be repaired or used as a pattern for new canvas.
  • Electronics: Not much here. I've moved the radio and GPS to the new boat. The old fishfinder/depth sounder (Raytheon?) is included.
  • Misc systems: The gas in the tank is 6-8 years old. Even with a healthy dose of Startron/Stabil, it's probably hopeless. I assume the batteries are shot.

I know the feeling. All I can say is keep your head up and hope for the best. I took my boat out yesterday and tried to fish, couldn't even close my hands hardly to hold a fishing rod. Met up with rwilson and talked for awhile, but had to leave because my knees were cramping and I couldn't take the pain anymore. Tried to fish again afterwards, and almost feel out of the boat, finally gave in and called it a day when I went into back spasms. I keep hoping eventually they will figure out something and get me back out on the water, so hold your head up and pray for the best, it's all you can do when your down.

Ok I will take it, My kids (son 29 daughter 26)have assured me it will go! Motor will get replaced with help from a few people, then if it floats we will go from there! I do not have a tow vechjel at this point, so we are going to have to figure that out? I live in Carver, boat will go to my daughters in Wareham, not far from middlebro. can't wait to be able to take grandkids out! gone will be the commercial fishing days, but great family days will be back! i miss the water so bad i say what did i do that was so bad to take it away?? lot of time to think in my old age, its not a good thing.
Thank you all!!

Awesome.... I've been wanting to see that signature line of yours go away for a long time...

"In a V again!" sounds sooo much better to me.

Joe we'll get you goin one way or another.

I would imagine a powerhead won't be too hard to find.

Greg, we can pass the collection plate if you need some gas money... Just say the word.
