Phat iknow how you feel I have a 78 wellcraft with the 78 trailer that she came with about 2 years ago I had to replace the trailer, I felt like I was breaking up a old friendship. I said I am sorry to the trailer and thanked it for its service and junked it. I actually did it. So I know kind of how you feel but when you get the next motor it will be like it's ok don't throw the old motor out you can use it for extra parts. Used parts are very very expensive even the little bushings that you don't think of.

Why don't you hang the 200 on your V and get back on the water right away?

thanks step, i have been around & used machinery ,motors, & tools all my life. it doesn't bother me a bit when things wear out because you use them as they were designed. i hate this failure was owner negligence. if i had been cruising along and it blew, no problem.

the prevailing view is dump the injection system, but i have resisted this and a simple electrical glitch caused a catastrophic event.

looking forward to embracing the new technology and being dragged into the current century

My wife says i did it subconsciously because i have been talking about a new motor for 2 years

thought about it, ferm. but then i'd be stuck with gas sucking go fast hold on technology.
doesn't sound bad does it.
i'm still weighing options.

It's still your cheapest quickest option of getting back on the water. Then you can wait a few weeks and see if any off season sales come up.

Not a Merc guy, but will the 200 accept parts from the 175? If so, You have a spare parts motor.

Not to be confused with a Spareparts motor.

200 is a 2.5 block, 150 is a 2.0, lot of the electrical is the same. i think?

reaching a point in my life where i know i have x number of boating days left,
think i'd rather be out in it than working on it.
