Water pump is 2 and a half years old, but there aren't many hours on it in that time.

I go to work and back home in the dark, so I don't know if I'll be able to try anything before Saturday, but I'll definitely try to work some leader up there and maybe they'll have the dock water turned back on by then.
I think your Yam is a 2004?...yer darn lucky Brudda...almost 10 yrs w/yer pee hole flowing free...once ya get this issue resolved go back to doin' what you were doin'...LOL!!...

Anything I can check before I resort to calling The Man?
Also experienced "cob webs" a piece of trimmer line does wonders. easy to carry and no rust !

Wow, the turn this thread has taken! lol

I should have posted much sooner. A piece of steel leader did the trick. The only thing that came out was a tiny piece of calcification (salt), but when I fired up the engine the stream began immediately. I can't believe that what came out could have caused a more or less complete blockage, so I'll be keeping a very close eye out for another stoppage in case there is still a larger piece stuck up in there. Not ready to try the ssiredfish method.
