Dude, Praying for them, I know we've never met, but I know the feeling. My wife has lots of family on the east coast. Its going to be a long week.

Good luck to you all out there.

From the liberal left coast...

Yeah they are, the news is saying that about 78 million people are directly affected by this storm... that is a HUGE storm. I headed up a crew after Katrina, to travel to and volunteer in LA after the hurricane, a crew to haiti after the earthquake, and while i didnt go, was involved with a crew to japan after the tsunami. and other natural disataters and I truly feel for the people around the affected areas and those who lose everything, or their families. 69 people killed in the carribbean, none here so far, pray it stays that way.

Thanks for the welcome. I am a serial stalker on this site, and even though everyone here seem like real stand up guys and very welcoming, I don t have much to say.

I have gotten lots of ideas and help from your re-build thread and from others. I am just starting a transom, custom bracket, and re power on a '80 fisherman and all the project creep that goes along with it, but I am a a real rookie with boats and boat repairs.

This site has been awesome, and a great help. thank you for sharing your rebuild.

I have prayed for your family and I hope they make it through safely.

Right now we are under about 10 hours. with no power and the past three hours the trees have been bent about 9o degrees several dozen times. 70+ mph winds.
It is 1035 pm and we expect this wind for at least another four hours.

Last report on my Bertram which is on the hard on blocks at the marina is that the high tide and swell last night had the marina flooded and the first of two cinder blocks under water. Then the fellow had to leave before getting caught.
The high tide plus swell is supposed to be twelve feet above that.
I am praying Senor Bert is still in one piece but I have a sinking feeling all is lost based on the reports I have seen.
The Jersey coast is f@cked, under water and washed out. Atlantic City is completely under water as are many dozens of other shore towns.
The sea has breached the barrier islands to the bay in several places as of 8PM which is the last report I saw.
We have some tree damage at my house and I have a couple of sections of vinyl siding that is ripped off as of right now that I know of in the dark.
Other than that it has been an incredible light show through are windows as dozens and dozens of transformers have exploded.
Based on what I know from thirty years of NJ Police storm experience we are looking at four to ten days before power will be restored. That is optimistically.
We still have a lot of storm to get through but I believe the worst has passed and I hop all make it through safe and sound.

Wow guys, sounds really bad. I pray that all of you and your families made it through this terrible storm and that your damage is minimal.
