Stabil, startron, etc are all snake oils in my opinion. I used to treat all my gas with stabil blue. Wasted money. I have two lawnmowers, a pressure washer, a tiller, and a Honda 350 Rancher that all have fuel issues. I do not care how much marine fuel is per gallon! Its all i will buy for my gas powered stuff except my car. It gets used enough so that i do not have problems. Ethanol is the reason I decided to keep my 1996 GMC diesel truck when i wanted to sell it. Avoid the problem completely and just buy marine fuel. Best defense is a good offense.

I was talking to my GM Factory Certified mechanic buddy the other day and he was telling me about testing some gas out of a customers car...14% alcohol. He said even the 100% gas he has tested has 2-3% in it.

I just had my fuel tank cleaned and the gas filtered by a professional. He said that the only stuff that he's seen be effective is CRC phase 4. But I agree: If you can get non ethanol gas, pay the premium.

Oh and if you buy a new weedwacker and run ethanol in it, when winter comes around, go ahead and throw it in the trash.

We have no choice here but to buy it But i use the stable and it seems to make a huge difference, for me anyway. I try not to leave any gas in the snow blower or Lawn Mower in winter or summer. I bought a battery powered weedwacker to avoid the gas issues that everyone seems to have. I have been leaving my boat full come winter and so far (knock on wood) no issues and there is 110 gal in there!!
