the pipe with the cinder block is the one that is probably clogged. This is a rebuild from Captain Petes boat....He installed a pipe in the forward area as well to drain the cuddy but my 87 cuddy doesnt have that as I can see the bottom of the boat through the drain hole in the cuddy floor and the fish box which is in front of the fuel tank.. Just the one that goes under the fuel tank.

you're looking for something like this:

this is what you would see if looking aft under the fishbox. i have an 83 cuddy o/b in which the fishbox is midship and the fuel tank toward the stern.

this is looking toward the bow at the bulkhead under the cabin door.

the problem with just blowing the drain open from the stern is it will probably just stop up again. i had to install a hatch to get in there and clean out debris that washed down the drain in the well in the cuddy.

also a great place to store wet, bulky items

Ok.. I see, thanks for the great pics.

Where did you get that hatch?

My tank is before the live bait well, my boat says it an 85 but the eng could be an 87?

i got the hatch at west marine, made by tempress. it has not held up very well. that pic is a few years old, i have since replaced it with another just like it, and this one is holding up better. my kids are older and don't constantly jump down on this one. bomar makes some also.

This is the hatch I installed on my 21 when I redid the floor last winter. It's either a Rabud or a Jim Black. (Don't really remember) Point is there's lots of things you can do for access to under your floor without having to tear out the entire area.

Ok real quick cause I keep losing internet after typing long posts ;(

You can try removing the aluminum threshold from the cuddy doorway. That will get you a 1 to 2 inch gap to get a wire hanger down there.

If that doesn't work-

If you don't want to cut the main deck for a hatch, put a small round access port in the vertical wall of the cuddy well.

My 84 (AKA-best year) has the pipe ...a long stiff wire from the back in combo with some water hosed into the drain might do it without cutting anything...if your has the pipe.

skunk, if you cut a hole in the well in the cabin, you can only get to the bulkhead under the door, about a 1/2 inch gap. 83 cuddy

yep, I see what you mean. I haven't done it myself. But there is a gap under the bulkhead for water to flow and that is one of the places that can clog.
Most likely the clog is at the front of the pipe that runs under the gas tank. On the '84 (AKA the best V...) the only way to get your hand to that spot would be to cut the inside of the belly fishbox/livewell.

I like the idea of that deck hatch. I can picture MY throw net right there too! I suppose if you have that, you can tilt the bow down while on a trailer and flush all the crap forward and clean it out there at that bulkhead.
