I would have none!
Ok as you guys know I bought a new used trailer, well Monkey Butler is coming tomorrow to look at the old for a buddy of his. So I wanted to get the trailers swaped out so it would be ready for him to look at So I call my buddy Pete and asked him to come by to give me a hand after work, FIRST MISTAKE!! Pete is a great guy but crap always follows him. So he gets here and I say you take new trailer and I will tow boat, He says I have to hitch?? I like what you mean?? He drives my old Chevy. He says I kept backing into things and hitting them so I took it out and its home. Ok lets take boat down to ramp, I will leave you with boat come back swap trailers, and come back. Get to ramp and throw Pete the rope and lunch the boat 2nd MISTAKE, so I am waiting at the ramp to be sure he is all set, when I see the boat turning away from the dock, I am like why is he turning the boat?? Then I see its a little bit away from the dock?? I get out to see Pete trying to rope the boat like a baby cafe or something! I yell what happened?? He said I did not tye the rope just hooked it onto the eye and it fell off!! I am OMG!! So we watch the boat float away with nothing we could do. All the dingys are pad locked I mean all! So now we drive around and asked a guy at the near by marina if there is someone thee to help us, He says I will go over in my boat and get it, GREAT!! So I tell Pete to go with guy and get boat, I will go swap the trailers and meat him at the ramp. 3rd MISTAKE, So I go home and when I get there Pete has parked his truck right were I needed to park the trailer. So I put on side road and go get the new trailer, I back up to it and I hit the trailer with my bumper, not but the dam wheel jack breaks in half and trailer is now in the mud!! The messed up part is I as on the phone with CB earlier and told him the jack was junk and needed a new one!. So now I am alone and I get out and try to lift the tongue myself, well No Way!! That thing HEAVY. So I go get my small floor jack, and jack it up, get it most of the way up and it slides off jack, back in the mud. OK start again and phone rings..... Its Pete he and the guy go over in a small little boat with a 9.9 motor in a NE wind blowing 25 easy to tow my 23 footer, but now it way over to the other side on the marsh, so no go! Pete says I am calling the harbor master now, I said Ok and hung up phone. Back to trailer now, I jack it up again and throw a small piece of wood to hold it, back up truck its off by 1/2 inch, no problem I lean on it a tiny bit to push on ball and yep you guessed it in the MUD #@!& Pete calls me like 4 times and I know answer. Try one more time and no way. So I call Pete back and he says boat is ok and on the dock. Great! So I tell him whats going on and he says come get me I come help you, I say ok. Off I go. We get back to house and get the 3 ton floor jack out and start to jack and bam in the mud again! #$@! After a few more times we are on the truck and away we go! Boat goes on trailer great! but hangs way off as it had a 22 on it before , I have a 23, I say F it we fix when we get home. We get home back in the yard and I said Sh^t no wheel jack to get off truck now! Back to the jack, it breaks free from the ball and back so heavy that the thing is bow up like a rocket! Get the tools and move the stop up and winch the boat one and down she comes. Now we get the other trailer out of road and in yard, go get hot coffee and go to Subway for a bite to eat, Then laugh about the whole adventure!! I said it could have been worse, Pete agreed! Went home Pete gave me some steamers he had dug in the AM, and I will have for supper tomorrow. How was your day??

Pretty great read there MJ. Although I was waiting for the part where you wrecked the old trailer and could no longer sell it or something to that effect......At least you could laugh about it.

That's the best d@mn Wind Talking I have heard for a long time, you are a luck guy. If that had been at my ramp that boat would been careening off boats in a fast current and usually wind and a half mile away by time you got some help to get it.

I agree, it coulda been worse. Nothing like getting stuck in the mud, LOL.
Misadventures of windtalker. Never understood the handle until now. You must be feeling better with all that activity.
