dont know if you southern boys know this but baby bluefish are called 'snappers'. another fact you may not know is many days, bluefish can be quite the nuisance.
toward the end of summer those little snapper are between 3/4 pound and 1 1/2 pounds. they'll eat dam near anything you throw at them. we got a spot where they hang for hours at a time. they hide from the bigger blues and stripers that are getting fat for the trip south. we throw tins at them on 4 pound spinning gear and believe me they tear yards off them little reels. you can hook up with a fish on dam near every cast and you'll get tired way before they will. aint much to compare with them for light tackle. we flatten the barbs down on trebles cause they take the whole dam thing in their mouth.
many's the day when snappers or blues have saved the day and provided hours of fun. we even throw them 4 pounders at the bigger boys and go on and fight a 10 pound bruiser on a 4 foot spinner.
not my dream trip and certainly way behind another chance to fish with my dad but some of the best sport you can come by in the northeast.

#1-Dundas and Zayas Island for Giant Salmon and Halibut (going there July-4th)
#2-Rooster/Dolphin combo on light gear some warm sand lots of cold beer good company and a view to live for has my vote.

I know how big the grin gets when you hook into a 50Lb Tyee and the pull of a Halibut you could never boat or the beer would be #1 hands down

X2 Snapper Blues are way fun. We've actually taken a nail, driven it thru a can top, added hook and line and caught blues for hours on it. They are not picky eaters... if it's in the water they consider it fair game.

My dream fishing trip would have to be off the coast of the French or Italian Rivieras. Any fish will do...not particular. But there's nothing like the Mediterranean Sea for shear beauty...and the view of the beach is nothing short of spectacular!

(Did I mention that most beaches are topless?)

another thing about a school of blues. . . . they'll tear through a school of bait or anything else you toss them just because it's got the nerve to be in their ocean. they're just plain mean and nasty. sometimes it seems they bite just because they're angry.

Hatteras, NC on my own boat chasing wahoo, dolphin and tuna with friends. I'd like to get good and tired of that and do some bottom drops for grouper. That is all I ask, nothing more.

Oh and sight cast a couple of 80lb cobia on the way back in.

Yeah, that's a dream trip for me fo sho.

Well, with any sort of luck his country will be rid of him soon enough. Then God can make his final judgement on him.
