Default Closed Up The Transom Top

Something I've been wanting to do for long time...remove the aluminum cap from the transom top and smooth it over...

Before...

Take a look at the two Clamshells just above the waterline here...the PO drilled these two holes thru the transom, ran several transducer lines thru them on both sides, left them open, no caulking or anything and put these clamshells over them like they would somehow keep water out...not too good...

Crammed a BUNCH of structural filler in and under the gap in the cap...and then came back over it w/surface filler...

After

And then went to sanding...got all the screw holes, transducer holes, etc while at it...

After paint, it'll look a little cleaner still...the HEAT finally broke down here and looks like things can move along now...

As you can see, plenty more to do...have the primer and paint ready for tomorrow and will paint transom only for now....gotta get it ready to hang motor soon and then will finish up remaining hull work...but the aluminum cap is in the Sptbg Co DUMP by now...
