That boat is MUCH older than 84, that is a 77 or older hull.

You're probably right... sorry. I've looked at a few now and guess I got confused. The craigslist listing doesn't indicate a year. Guess I assumed it was 1984. I even went and looked and took pictures. The engine doesn't look 77ish, does it? Any idea on what a fair offer is?

I don't like it... but then, that's me. Seats are shot, back to back is missing and the deck is stained where it was. That's ok if you don't mind it I guess... Doesn't look like an 84 either.. I'm thinking mid 70's...Gas lines look wierd.. Maybe it's the angle but I didn't see a winch on the trailer... not familiar with float-ons, so maybe that's ok.. but I don't like it. If it were me I'd keep looking or get a better price. It's the height of the boating season and prices are at their premium.. If you can I'd wait till the end of the season... you'll find many many more boats at a lower price. Just my two cents.

Okay, it's a '74 with an '85 engine (rebuilt in '08). Not sure where I got '84 from. I notice it doesn't have the self bailing transom like the newer ones do. What's the value on an older model like this?

Brought an '82 V20 home today. It has a 185HP Evinrude V6. It needs some TLC, but I thought I couldn't go wrong for $1700. I'll get some better pics up by the weekend. Lot's of work to do and I'm gonna need you guys' help.

Awesome...congratulations.... I think you're right for $1700 how can you go wrong...I mean you cant hardly buy a refrigerator these days for that much money and you have a boat that you can get tons of enjoyment out of.
Are those round hatches on the cuddy deck?

Yeah. They look pretty new. It also has a brand new bimini - for a Monterrey, but it fits nicely. And there is a Garmin fishfinder new in the box, but I'll probably replace it before this thing ever gets wet. Other than those items... it needs a complete overhaul. I think I should probably also take the engine in for an inspection & probable rebuild... or does anyone recommend doing this myself? I did check compression and the cylinders were consistent at 75 lbs, but I haven't researched the OEM specs for it yet.
