			Yeah I'm sure I paid more than if I would have had a mechanically minded nephew nearby.   I'm just glad it is done.  She runs good.  My wife and I were at each other's throats over sharing her car!

			Very true Reel.  When you work on your own rig, you need to pay yourself a nickel / hour. LOL. You could just out and out buy a brand new gasoline crate motor with some nice goodies to go along with it for the price of the parts that got replaced on this Duramax. But, you would only have a gas motor. There is no comparison to the Duramax IMO. The diesel can run at the rated horsepower indefinitely without overheating and the torque can move mountains. AND It will hang with most gas jobs in performance. (before modifications) I am not trying to start a debate about cost or economy I have had gas trucks all my life until this one. All I'm trying to say is the modern diesels are impressive although expensive to repair. |
