It needs a good cleaning, a couple of glass spots fixed (one on the floor that is a crack where it looks like someone dropped something on it, and one on the front where you can see the eye on the inside of the boat has cracks around it) and the trailer needs some work but for the price it was hard to beat. Always wanted one of these. Funny how God opens doors sometimes...

good score!!!

i've got a 68 13' whaler i'v had for about 18 years. i had a 7.5 honda on it for a couple of years, the went with a 30 mariner for about 10 years, and 3 years ago i bought a new 40 tohatsu 2 stroke and put on it. if your going to be the one running it 50 or 60 hp will be ok, but if kids or inexperienced adults are going to be in, i'd stick with a 40. it's amazing how fast 30 mph seems when you are 18 inches of off the water..

It's really going to come down to what we can find for a very good deal. I wish I had the money to go buy new power for it but it'll probably end up getting a used motor and if I can afford a 50 I will sure go for it. Would like to hit the middle of the road there but if I find a 30-40 i'll probably go with it. Just want something reliable, but hoping for a 50. Can't wait to get it cleaned up and going. Gotta split my time now between getting this one finished up, my v20rebuild, and my 20dually that is gonna be our kingfisher.

one thing i would recommend is trim & tilt. i would rather have a 25 w/ t&t than a 50 without. i didn't have it until i got the new motor and what a difference it makes on a small hull. i think the mckee's have a better ride than the old whalers, but the trim would be nice..
