Here is Georgia's requirements.
Boat title: bill of sale with former owners name, signature, address, HID.
If current and from same state, just send in the previous owners registration card and filled out transfer and renewal slip in your name and address with appropiate amount of money.
Out of state or new: bill of sale and application for new registration (new to this state or new).
No HID number, salvaged or homemade: apply for inspection by DNR, if approved they will affix HID number.
No bill of sale, no registration possible.

Trailers must have mfrs number and bill of sale and be checked by nearest police station annex (that actually does inspections). Then go to tag office for tag registration. Homemade trailers must apply for state issued homemade trailer number then do all of the above, except bill of sale.

Outboard motors: They don't care

I was checking the rules on Florida State but its a little confusing reading all that.

it doesnt say anything about outboard engines but what happens if someone sell me a stolen motor ?
im confuse about regulations, The title is only for the BOAT HULL and TRAILER? Engine dont need title or serial number?

Where online do i check the engine MODEL SERIAL to see the year of the engine? for a mercury

No titles on boat engines in FLORIDA. That there is an early 80's 150 low output powerhead mated up to a late 80's mid section and cowlings. VRO started mid year of 85 on the V6's and in 85 they put it on the new looper V4's and V8's. The smaller engines got VRO in the late 80's and around 91 or so 40HP+ had it. That powerhead I would say could be a 77-84. In 85 alot of the 150's got the bubble back exhaust cover. Also that engine only has the 9 amp flywheel, around 85 the 35 amp became standard on the V6's and SEADRIVES. The fact that it is a 25" shaft isn't a big deal, if you had a 25" transom then a 20" shaft would be a challenge. You can get a jackplate and mount that 25" shaft on your 20" transom.

There you go......

I was going to say that it is painted and marked like my 1989 Evinrude 200's I had on my GW 25.

Sounds like a good one to pass on.

Looks like the OG series started in 1994.
This site only goes to 1996, apparently that motor is newer than a 1997.

Mercury has determined it is absolutely not needed to know the year of the motor, therefore when ordering a part, use the model/serial number to get parts.
As for selling the black beast, just list the model/serial number and horsepower and verbally tell it is about a 1997.
