I hope they no charge you to much to get rid of the boat and motor!

See if you can get a tax credit if you sink the boat with the motor for a artificial reef?

Make sure you can get parts for an 88 Force. I had a hell of time finding stuff for my old 94 Force 120HP.

You being in Miami, landfills should be at a premium.
Start looking at thru city and county reclaimation locations. They may require the derelict to be in certain size pieces.

Do yourself a favor, send me the $300.

Then count your blessings and keep looking for a DECENT motor for your V.

The FORCE engines are cheap for a reason. They CANNOT withstand many RPM's for ANY length of time, I believe redline on those things is only 5250. The mid size MERCS were actually FORCE engines for quite some time. The late model 90's to 115's had ALOT of issues as these were rebadged FORCE motors. They use a 1 piece block and head with a cooling cover on them. They have ALOT of problems with corrosion around the spark plugs as well. They also use FORCE ONLY tach on most of them that is about twice the money and ONLY works on the FORCE engines. A 125 FORCE would push a V, but I wouldn't expect it to live for very long doing it. MAC ATTACK used to have one on his IIRC, but he upgraded to an ETEC.

I'd save your money bro. You may get the motor for $300, but it will cost you SOMETHING to bolt it up, attach controls, and fix SOMETHING that probably IS wrong with it however minor. It's the end of the season in a crappy economy. Someone else will be selling a decent motor at a decent price about the time you are posting here about how the Force blew up on you and left your family stranded. You said the rest of the bayliner looked like hell. Do you think they took the extra time to do maintainence and winterize if they won't even clean the boat up to sell it? Just my opinion.
