I love ya too Blue, don't know about the bullet thing though.
I understand your need for change, I need it too. But the version of what you have posted is quite frankly what is the standard talking points the obama campaign, and frankly the media wants you to believe.
If you want change put in someone with a track record of bucking big government, of bucking big oil, of trying to prevent the home mortgage debacle, of someone who will do the right thing, something we can afford for the medical insurance problem.
Instead you want to put in someone who has voted to raise your taxes across the board in every oppurtunity he has had. Someone who tell Blue what he wants to hear and goes to your buddy in Virginia what he wants to hear. Energy, we need a lot more than a vague plan of government sponsored solar and wind development and your candidate has been one of the leaders in the dem party that has prevented this country from building one single new refinery in the past 34 years, dead against nuclear [pwer inspite of his recent statement in the debates, he has voted consistently to block off shore drilling and stated p;oint blank when gas was over 4 dollars a gallon that it should be higher and will be, then the people will stop using so much, he was only surprised it went up that quick.
He has proposed close to a trillion dollars in new spending, and he has told everyone he is only going to tax 5% of the people to get it.
His government take over by decree of the health care industry is another expansion you will be giving the feds, so that they can run it as effieciently as they have all those other gov run programs that are bankrupting our country.
The Wall St. Journal put together his official policies and figured that if he was to get half of what he wants done the free market in this country will collapse under the weight of the current crisis along with the tax burden on the people that are creating the jobs in this country.
To add insult to injury he tries to put a good spin lying thru his teeth about his disdain for our tropps and the military in general but what he has said, recently is disgusting and he should be flogged for it,
So if you want change why not go with someone who is 100% for out troops and who will reduce the governments expansion in our lives and stop this Orwellian snowball we have been witnessing the past two decades, why not put someone who will put forward a energy policy taking all of what resources and technology offers to reduce this huge deficit we experience in this country. And someone who will support our troops and remove them in a honorable way, Someone who will not refer to them as aerators of villages and killers of civilians. But do the job right and bring them home in the way American Soldiers should be brought home.

When it comes down to the 3 most important things to me, its a clear choice who should be president.

Here they are in order of importance:

1) Economy
2) War on "terror"
3) Dependance on foreign oil

I don't care that McCain left his first wife b/c she got disfigured or that Obama went to a church and had a pastor who preached crazy chit. These are all partisan attacks that divert us from the issues. This isn't a personality contest (or is it?). Just because someone is a war hero doesn't mean they know how to solve the problems of the world.

These are the 3 that I believe the Democratic ticket will act on in a more positive way than the other Republicans.

Speaking of a lack of knowledge of foreign affairs, McCain and his vast military experience and knowledge believed Iraq would be a "relatively easy" victory attainable in "a very short amount of time." If you don't call that out of touch I just don't know what to call it.
Especially armed with the hindsight of his participation and heroic efforts in Vietnam - which he still doesn't think Vietnam was a mistake by the way..... raise your hand if you think Vietnam was a positive experience for the US - do I get any takers on that? Thank God my dad made it back from that quagmire or I would not be here. And trust me he almost didn't.

I believe the cost of so-called victory in Iraq outwieghs the benefits. Is it attainable? No one knows for sure. If it is attainable how long and how many lives would be lost? McCain summed it up nicely at the end of the debate last night. It is something we don't know. I think we should go after a real victory and that is targeting the terrorists no matter where they are.

Energy - Palin's husband works for an oil company. We need to do away with these conflicts of interest for a while. Especially at a time when a great deal of emphasis needs to be put on changing our entire fuel infrastructure and way of thinking when it comes to how we get from place to place. Obama has lofty goals to get it done in 10 years as I'm sure you've heard him say. How easy it is to sit back and say "impossible" but just look at history. Where we were 100 years ago. The advancements we've made in 100 years are down right phenomenal. I'll say it again PHENOMENAL. Change starts with somebody who has big goals and is focused on accomplishing those goals. I don't get the warm fuzzies that McCain the military man and Palin who feeds her family with a paycheck from an oil company will do much for our long term energy crisis - other than put it off on the next generation to deal with. And "my friends" by then it will be too late.

What we should be doing is identifying the most important issues on our minds, listening to their proposals and deciding who will do the best job.

I still love you guys.....and I'd take a bullet for any one of ya....but your all eratic, out of control and downright dangerous. LOL

Well said, BR...and let me just add how difficult it is to trust someone who WINKS at you when they're tryin' to convince you of something...if that's down-home, it's down-home BULLCHIT!!...and remember Bush's plan with McCain support to invest in the stock market instead of fixin' social security...boy, what a working-man's plan that was...

This ain't a Dem vs Rep thing...just right vs wrong...there's baggage in both camps...I'm takin' the road least like Bush Blvd... the one we know doesn't work...the one that's FAILED miserably at every turn...the money you go out and work for every day is worth FAR less than it was 8 years ago...devalued dollars don't deserve votes...

You know, everybody keeps ranting "change". My question is "Change for what"? Change can be a good thing, but it can also be a BAD thing! Not all change is good. My main concern is all of the people playing the blame game and looking to the government to fix it. As everybody does this, they slowly give more and more of there control over to said government because the people no longer want there responsibility. Before you know it we are a socialist country where everybody is the same, BROKE AND PISSED!

Remember this come my birthday, NOVEMBER 4th(I sure hope I get the present I WANT that day).

The change I want will require a 3rd party that's more interested in practical solutions to the problems we face and truly conservative spending of our tax dollars...no earmarks, no lobbyists, no add-ons to bills before congress...and anyone practicing politics in government would be FIRED on the spot!!...

That sounds like my definition of it as well. This is why I wanted RON PAUL to run, he believes in government at it's smallest and simplest form.

Dear blue:

Coming at you from the far rigth (i lived in cuba for the first 24 year of my live and i know what the "left" is, far left and near left) so i consider myself in the furthest posible form the "left".

The presidency of the united states is not about education, you can be a lawyer, a doctor or an engineer and still not be qualified to be president, it is all about caracter, (example: Ronald reagan) and it is from this point of view that i can't disregard the fact that barack obama associated himself with these people, like farrakan , wrigth etc. When you sit during 20 years listening to a guy that preaches racial hate and extreme views, is because somehow you agree with it, because if you don't you stand up and leave, like i did in fiu when i had american born professors trying to give lesson about how good the cuban system is. This is what i question: His caracter.

As to the economy, barack obama is not an expert in economy (as far as i know, but proof me wrong) , nothing on his pedigree indicates that
furthermore his advisors on economics were the head of fanny mae and freddie mack.

I don't see either how obama is qualified to lead us in the war on terror, unless he's taking advise from bill eirs who was a terrorist on his younger years.

As for the "dependency" on foreign oil i don't see how either mc cain or obama
will solve that since there is no alternative, but build more nuclear plants,
proyect that, by the way, is been blocked in by democ-rats in congress for years, unless of course the put a windmill on our behind and make us fart.

For any REAL change we would have to be able to elect a NON polititian who is unencumbered by big money donors . Unfortunately, our system doesn't work that way any more......if it ever did.

I am writting in Willy for Prez, Reel for VP.....now thats a balanced ticket.
