The newer models built after 1977 also have a higher coaming due to the newer style cap, thus supplying more freeboard. My '85 model has 26" from the deck to the top of the gunnels. Not sure what pre-78 models have???

Also, the only foam I could find in mine was around the factory fuel tank which caused it to rot out beyond belief.

Wellcraft was all over with these boats, some have foam and some of the same year won't have any. same with the caps, some are high some are low, but it was after the 70's when coast gaurd required foam or some type of flotation in all boats, and this is when the decks got raised.
Mine was a 75 before the deck raising, but I know longer have it to measure it??
But I did see another members that lives on the cape and forgot what year it was, but man did he have a ton of room under that deck!!

Did anyone notice that the expensive one has backwards NAV lights...??? Look at that bottom left pic, looks like green on port red on starboard... Most be limited edition.

That center console on ebay is sweet... The owner of the high priced one in Oceanside is smoking something if he thinks he'll get anything close to what he's asking... and $9500 is his reduced price...
