Daddy showed up with a ladder off a boat I had owned in 1978, so I put it to good use.

Found some stainless oar locks, cut them off and mounted them upside down for the brackets.

Looks like a strong ladder!! Good work!

But let me ask one thing, I do not see any sign of 5200 or 4200 under that bracket??

You have to put some on all screwes or water will just suck into the wood there!
and make sure you counter sink the hole a little so the glass doesn';t crack around it. Just use a drill 2 sizes bigger and touck the gel coat with it to make it flare you will be fine.

I looked at that, there's only glass there so I put fender washers under the cap.

It was some kind of 16' semi-v hull that had an old 40hp Evinrude on it and the tank mounted in the front bow, a lot like a cuddy. Come to think of it I still got the gas tank, a square 12-18 gallon aluminum one!
Wish I had removed the flanges that I had to make to reuse the ladder.

I like that ladder!!... looks sturdy as all get-out ;) ... fender-washers'll probably do, but I's gonna suggest a pretty substantial backin'-plate under those mounts ... your cap's just like mine and I know there ain't much there ;) ... keep an eye on 'em and if cracking starts showin' around those mounts, ya might wanna go beefier than those washers 8) ...

Is the weight of the ladder the only thing holds it in place?...w/someones weight on it, No worries, but I can see some rockin' and rollin' action possibly causein' that puppy to jump off the mounts ... any way to thru-pin it or put a saftey strap ... hate to see such a nice ladder lost to deep water :o ...
