Zatarain's is great stuff. Yummm
Reel, he hasn't invited me for a while, and to be honest with you that's okay with me. The two times I've been waaaay offshore (once with him, once with another guy) were pretty bad experiences. First time the engine (single) broke down, after catching very few fish, and we had to be towed in -- as in, towed for many hours. Second time, different boat (a 38' Ocean) the fishing was a little better, but one of his engines overheated and we had to come in on one engine for about 30 miles, not so bad except it got really rough. Now I know that's only two times, but maybe Poseidon doesn't want me out there, you know? ;) Also, this friend is known to fish pretty much until he has to come in because he's low on gas. Rough seas? Pshaw! Typical trip lasts 30+ hours -- combat fishing you might call it. One of these days when the seas are forecast to be dead calm and he invites me, I'll give it a try again. But all in all I'm pretty dang happy just to get the fish he gives me and enjoy it! ;D |

Either way is delish! *But I have a hard time getting it just right on the grill, especially when the pieces are real thick -- frying it was easy!
