Agreed Sea, we definetly had a lemon, the problem was we were not alone. Went on the web and found out there wqs a whole bunch of us with the problems we encountered. And at the dealerships we ran into many more experiencing major issues.
Now with that said I will say this, when it ran it ran sweet, the straight six had good power and we towed our camper and boat with it no problem. It handled like a sports car and very smooth and quiet.
If it was reliable and the service from GM dealers was competent and honest we would still have it. Alas we were one of many who have had major problems with the vehicles and got out of it while we could. And won't go back.

Mulv, whatever you get is fine, but the question is, since you are in Philly, are you coming down for the get together. ;D

We had the top of the line Trailblazer LTZ. Single worst investment we made in our lives, electrical problems all the time. Windows that would fall down inside the door. When you needed the windshield wipers the motor would die or an actuator or some other component(three times diffrent pieces went wrong) When we needed to engage the four wheel drive, twice for road situation in winter would not engage. Problem with electronic activator and the second time some servo motor in it, they tried to say it was not a covered item on the warranty. We refused to pay them and I started raising hell in the dealership waving the bill in front of the customers in there talking loudly about how they are screwing us. Bill was paid for by them. We sold the truck for a big loss just to get rid of it.
We bought a Honda for her. The service has been phenominal, twice we had some not their fault with something wrong on it and dropped it off without a appt. and both times they spent time pulling something apart to help us out and called us up to pick up and no charge. Warranty items are not even discussed, just repaired. Of wich there have been only minor items not vital to the war effort.
That is why I don't buy GM anymore, three vehicles and three headaches, bulls!t problems and piss poor quality control. And three different dealers and all three smile at you while sticking it where the sun don't shine.

There, its off my chest and in answer to your question, IMHO do not buy one.

My other boat is a Suburban. ;D

I realize that may be more than you want, if so, get a Tahoe. Nothing pulls like a V-8.

my dad bought a new one worst car he ever owned in the winter your feet froze and those 4.3 crap motors are prone to fuel injection issues they all will need a spider assembly and they run $1000 to fix min. he kept 2 yrs traded it in once it was kind of running good enough for a new Jeep Cherokee

I own a 04 trailblazer with the 4.2 inline 6 (275 hp and 280 ft. lbs torque). *I drove the Explorer and Durango v-8's and I'll take the 4.2. *The Explorer wouldn't get out of it's own way. *The trailblazer had 35 more hp than the explorer v8. *Newer trailblazers were rated at 290 hp. *The Durango was not a Hemi, however. *Mine came with a 2" receiver hitch with wiring, trans cooler and posi rear. *No problems in approx 50K miles. *Pulls and stops my V20 with no problems. *I also don't have *trailer brakes. *Schools, do you mean the v6 4.3 or the inline 4.2? *I've owned both and I can't say anything bad about the 4.2. *Willy, it sounds like you got a lemon. *Just my $.02 * *
