Looking at the pic again there really looks like the motor is sittin to far back, like there is something between the motor and hull??

Randleman, you dont have the back side of the motor bracket shimmed out with washers or something like that do ya ?.
Or one hell of a thick transom cap ?? ???

My 1975V was like that when I had a single motor I don’t think it rubbed as bad at that one does

Looks like the motor isn't flush against the transom, but thats already been said. I think what I would do assuming it is against the transom, is grind that notch out a little deeper for clearence, seal it up with either epoxy or thicked gel-coat, and be done with it.

The transom cap is keeping the motor from pulling all the way up to the transom, but it lacks less than 1/8" being there.

I guess the thing to do is pull the motor back off and grind off the back of the cap.

There was a gouge already there from the original 20" motor, and you can see the gouge from the 25" motor on the top of the cap.

I was wondering when something was going to give me trouble, everything has been going too smooth.

I was thinking about one anyway, but didn't want to deal with changing the steering cable right away.

I might as well put on a jackplate cause I am going to have to take the motor off again anyway.
