Default Cuddy Leak Question

I have water leaking into my cuddy from above! :o I know from past experience that they’re not watertight, but this is different. Can’t tell exactly where it’s getting in, but it is dripping down near the hatch, and the scary part is that it’s brownish, kind of like Coke-colored, to the point that it stains where it lands. I’m concerned that this means it’s getting into the deck and soaking the wood underneath before it makes its way out. I figure I need to remove the hardware – rail bases, anchor chocks – and the wood running alongside the hatch, and seal it as I re-install. Should I use 3M’s 4200 Polyurethane, or 3M’s Marine Grade Silicone Sealant? Any pros or cons to either one?

I had the same problem!! Your right its getting into the wood!
This is why I have alot of stress cracks on my boat, it freezes in the winter expans and cracks >:(

I would use 4200 or 5200 to seal all if it was I,

But if you want to do it a different way if the holes are to big, dip a Golf T in resin hamer into the hole, after dry cut off T and add marine tex.

then make new holes and 5200 all new stainless screws

Default Re: Cuddy Leak Question

My cuddy leaks just as bad somewhere near the hatch and the teak trim rail. Thinking it was leaking in under the teak trim screws on the bow. The water stains are brown as well.
