Default Re: Yamaha Oil Injection System

Ok time to bring this thread out of moth balls!!

I went out and started to play with the injection system today.
Ok I took the float switch out of the oil tank on engin. Slid it to the bottom and the alarm went off. And oil did pump into tank from remote tank.
Now does anyone no if when the float is moved back to the full position, if the alarm shuts off??
Mine will not shut off until I turn off key and then turn it back on?? Sort of like a reset??
The manule I have does not say anyhing about this??

MJ - That's a good question to ask that guy you bought your engine from. He'd know off the top of his head. Anyway . . . you might want to look into getting the yamaha service manual for your engine.

One on ebay just went for $5.00

MJ, yes you must reset by turning the key off, then back on. In addition to the warning light and buzzer, the engine RPM drops to 2000, Unless you reset, the RPM won't go above 2000, even when enuff oil has been added.

Sounds like another problem solved. :)

BTW, my boat is way overdue for a waxing. ;)

BS, He is gone!! Moved the whole shop to Florida!! So he isn't going to be of anymore help to us. :(

I just finished installing that 25 gal gas tank also!! Thanks again!!
But can you help me one more time with that tank??? I now carry 65 gal gas at $2.00 + I need $130.00 cash
to fill the boat :)

I also have a Claymer manual and it does not mention weather or not if you need to reset.

Thanks Seakindly! It seems all to be working and all I need to do is get the dam thing in the water!! That will be the test!!
I have to wait till next week. I should be getting trailer parts any day now and then I can get going. Not to mention I am still working 2 jobs till this Thursday!!

Thanks guys!!

I know mine also requires turning the key off, then on again to reset. Glad you got things working Bud.
Dad's back home from the hospital so I'll have some more free time instead of driving into Boston everyday (twice on workdays. :-/)

LETS FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

Yeah, and sometimes the spelling gets to ya too! ;D

Yeah, Dad was hospitalized for about a week. He had a mild heart attack, actually a little while before the hospitalization. He was experiencing some more pains, so they admitted him and did a Cardiac Catheterization. He's doing well now. Thanks. I told him he can't be down now with the fishing season about to get into full swing. ;)

MJ, you must be glad to be rid of that other job now. Money's good, but that was going to cramp your style once fishing starts.
I'll give you a buzz in the next day or two. ;)

Yeah CB ... he can't let a little ol heart attack get in the way of his fishin.

My dad's already had 3 heart attacks, and it doesn't stop him from doing what he loves to do ... chainsmokin ::)
