Default hey guys and gals new guy here with a stringer question

Hi my names Jeff new to the forum and the v20 been working on and around boats my whole life. Ok long story short I just traded my 13ft formal plastics (Boston whaler skiff replica) for a 1972 v20 o/b fisherman. And well this thing needs some serious tlc. I knew from the start the transom was **** but after looking in the buildge area I noticed the stringers were to. I'm wondering if anyone has like a blue print of the hull so I have an idea wat I'm looking at with out cutting up to much of my "new boat". Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard....here is a link to one of our members threads that has some pretty good pics....not sure what year boat it is but should be close to the same...This one has a tank in the floor where your 72 might have saddle tanks?

Cool

Hello and welcome. Lots of guys have done the transom/stringer repair here. You should be able to find seveal threads with lots of pics. I'll tell you the same thing I've told everyone else that's gone through this repair. Don't look at getting the whole job done instantly, that's a sure way to get discouraged... instead set little goals for yourself. Before you know it the jobs done and you'll be out on the water.; And remember.... We love boat porn here.

heres my 74' she used to be a cuddy shes now a center console. the centerconsoles and the cuddys shouldnt be any different in stringer set up. I dont think you have a grid setup, you should have the primary and secondary stringer system like mine did. dod yo have saddle tanks ?

Thanks guys. Not quite sure on the tank haven't ripped into it yet. I can see the tank inside my center console I don't think it goes below the floor. Not even sure if its the original tank. Still trying to figure out how yo post pics from my phone. Lol they will be here soon
