yes but you will need the whole mid section and lower unit, remove your power head and install on the other one. A lot of work, be easier to find a extension kit, but hey if you are willing there is a way.

Yeah i can totally relate to that, plus you really know your motor, so i understand. You would have to replace the lower unit because the drive shaft is too short. on the extension kits, you get longer studs for your foot, a spacer for your mid-section, & an extension for your drive shaft. MJ's suggestion bout finding a blown 130/150 and putting your powerhead on might bet the path of least resistance..

Tye extra 5" that you need for the longer lower unit is in the mid section, the longer shaft goes in and you are all set. The extencion kit will have a 5" spacer that matches the motor to fix this.
If you get a 25" lower unit you will have the shaft and stuff but still will be short in the mid section, and this is why you will need the whole motor and replace with your power head.

Reel, I know how you feel. I couldn't imagine selling my V after all the time I've spent rebuilding it and all the fun I've had with it. But it looks like you've made a good move. You got yourself a 21 year newer boat and you can dress it out any way you want. Have fun!!

On ebay right now hydraulic jack plates range from $439 to over a grand. Cheeper than making yours a 25" motor I bet, but making yours a 25" will be better.
